This is a great segment from The Brian Lehrer show on WNYC about artists and their day jobs. I heard this on the radio this morning right around the time I was thinking about balancing a couple of writing activities with the day job. And also how sometimes my day job feels like it sucks my lifeblood from me. I'm so grateful to even have a job... indeed, I'm grateful that I'm ABLE to work. A year ago I was in the process of applying for permanent disability because I could barely work 15 hrs a week. I know I'm blessed that I recovered enough to work full-time again.

Sometimes, though, I wish my job was a little more soul-satisfying.
